Safiul Azam Data & Information Management

UNHCR Cox’s Bazar · 7+ years

I turn humanitarian data into decisions people can act on.

Data and information management specialist working in the Rohingya refugee response at UNHCR Bangladesh. I manage population datasets covering 1.2 million people, build Power BI dashboards and Power Platform applications used by senior management and government counterparts, and hold an MSc in data analytics with applied machine learning.

Profile

End-to-end data capability, built in the field

I have spent seven years delivering data operations for one of the world’s largest humanitarian responses. The work spans the full cycle — collection, cleaning, preparation, analysis, modelling and visualisation — with hands-on development in Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, SQL and Python.

What I build gets used. Dashboards go to senior management and to Camp-in-Charge government officials. Low-code applications have replaced manual tracking across eight registration sites, including an asset system covering US$4M+ and a reporting tool that cut turnaround from two days to thirty minutes. Alongside that I hold an MSc in Data Analytics and Design Thinking for Business (CGPA 3.9) with applied machine learning, plus CS50x — Computer Science and CS50’s Databases with SQL from Harvard.
